I'm super excited for it, even if I've felt like death most of this week(thank you, time 'o the month). Joe had to take leave for it. They decided on Wednesday to put everyone back on 12 on 12 off shifts, and that they would work the weekend. I got all freaked out that we wouldn't be able to go for a minute, and there were going to be tears and a fairly butthurt wife to deal with if that was the case(yes, I know, it's just a thing, but it's a thing I really really want!).
It snowed here on Tuesday, which was pretty strange for a place that isn't usually suppose to get snow. I'd say we had 1-2 inches here, but it's all since melted. Snow in a place that doesn't get snow really freaks out the system. Places around us got more snow then we did though, and with out plows or salt, it makes driving pretty ridiculous.
I think I'm ready for February, but I'm not sure. I bought some construction paper to try my hand at homemade valentines. I need to work on thank you notes first, but was hoping to get a little help from Joe on that. I'm trying to figure out unique, non boring things to say on them, not just "thanks for blah blah blah, it was really nice/great/etc. Lots of people gave us money and checks though, that we put in our savings to use to buy a house someday. That is one I'm slightly stuck on, since they all went to the same place, but I'm sure I'll figure something out.
Shameless advertisement for my dear awesome photographer/seamstress/artist friend Andi, who also took our wedding photos, that I'll post some of eventually. Go buy some pretty shiny baubles from her! She has an Etsy store here and she makes really neat bracelets, earrings, and pendants. I bought a bracelet from her a while ago, and it's definitely one of my favorites. Show her some love, and help her out if you can, okay? :)

Noooo! I did not make up a word! But, there is excitement anyway!
Darn it all. I googled "crudmuffin" and found out it already had a couple entries on urbandictionary.com
But, it's okay because I will continue to say it. Now, for the excitement! We are going to meet/investigate with the Ghost Hunters at the USS North Carolina battleship! This is because I truly have the best husband evar! He's super awesome and said we could go. I guess this will sort of count as our honeymoon of sorts, for the time being. I'm soooooooo excited! I may have to run around the house some to calm down.
In other news, we got my military id today. We were helped in that office(which is supposedly run by civilians), by a Marine Master Sargent(MSgt). I was sort of nervous around her, even though she was super nice and helpful. She has rank and I don't and I think that equals nerves. My id now has a picture with a big cheesy grin smile on it, because MSgt ma'am wanted it that way. She took one picture, and I kinda fake smiled, and she said "Let's take another one. We want to show off your beautiful smile!" Have to give her props though. She knew my engagement ring was a bezel cut setting, which not a lot of people know.
Ending with more excitement! Demetri Martin's new show "Important Things with Demetri Martin" premieres on February 11th. Wooo-hooo! I think he is awesome!!

Adventures in becoming an "Official Marine Wife"
So today, we went to IPEC, which is the place where they change over all your (and by your I mean your enlisted person's) paperwork. Sadly they change all sorts of paperwork there, and so it took a while. Not quite as long as it possibly could have taken (I think my squinty eye mind powers helped with that, although Joe thinks not). It was a sea of woodland cammies, as the office is entirely run by Marines. There was another wife, across the room, who looked about as thrilled to be in the midst of this organized chaos as I was. The Marine finally assigned to help us looked young, (he was a PFC), but had a daughter, so I'm not sure how old that could make him. I deemed his chevrons swooshy things(Well, he only had one, and they kind of look like boomerangs by themselves). Joe just shook his head at me when I told him that. I got to try and answer most of the questions while Joe had to run home and get the sheet that said he had signed out of the barracks(which was a while ago, but oh well). I didn't know where he went to school for his MOS, but apparently I will be amusement for them later, by telling them "Well, I know he went to boot camp in SC." Also, if anyone knows Hugh Jackman's address, apparently Joe would really rather have his body Fed Exed to him in case anything happens to him overseas. I told him I'd see if he accepted dead bodies.
The adventure continues on Friday, with getting my military id. Apparently the short staffed, civilian run office is now taking appointments to get people in, and that was the first one we could secure for me. Fabulous.
